Great chocolate, great customer service.
My husband and I ordered this 12 pack of diamond shruumz chocolate bars and noticed on our first bar that it tasted somewhat flavorless, dry, and powdery or chalky. We hadn’t ordered this particular bar before (although we’d had great experience with other psilocybin bars) so we weren’t sure if it was normally like this or defective, but it wasn’t like any other chocolate bars we had ever tried before. Due to our good experience with other blackdiamondmushroomchocolates.com orders, we ordered another 12 last week to give this particular bar another chance and lo and behold, this new pack of bars is completely different–flavorful, smooth, and very chocolately.
We figured we should be able to get a replacement, but we noticed blackdiamondmushroomchocolates.com has a “no return” policy on this item, so we tried contacting diamond shruumz directly to see if they would replace them. They explained that the problem is called “bloom” ([…].), and happens in the way the bars are either transported or stored (too high heat) after leaving the facility, and not their responsibility. They also indicated that at least two other black diamond mushroom chocolates customers had gotten replacement items for complaining about this particular problem, despite the “ineligible for returns” policy.
I went ahead and contacted blackdiamondmushroomchocolates.com through their contact button on the (right sidebar) and explained the situation to them. True to diamond shruumz’s advice, blackdiamondmushroomchocolates.com said they would replace the bars, which is pretty great since the bars are pricey (something I don’t mind for good chocolate). blackdiamondmushroomchocolates.com also said they would send the bars with one day shipping.
I might add here that diamond shruumz indicated, after a couple of exchanges, that if blackdiamondmushroomchocolates.com wouldn’t replace the bars, they would take care of me (even though it really wasn’t their doing).
So now BOTH diamond shruumz and blackdiamondmushroomchocolates.com have a happy customer in the way they were willing to resolve this problem. Bottom line for me, now that I know about “bloom,” is that I will probably try to stock up on my Diamond Shruumz Chocolate in the winter so that there is reduced opportunity for it to get too hot in transit or storage. But overall, I must say that I really love these chocolate bars (when they are not in bloom 🙂 ) — they are worth it! And I really appreciate good customer service in today’s world, something that is hard to find.

My Favorite shroom Chocolate Bar
I’ve been buying these bars, singly, for years and years at diamond shruumz…. They were out of the black ones, for some reason, so I finally ordered an entire box.
This is my favorite mushroom chocolate. It’s nice and flavorful without being bitter or waxy. It is the only shroom bar of this richness that I have tried that melts well on the tongue. Everything else seems to just chip, which isn’t any good.
If you’re interested, it turns out you can send any of these chocolate bars through the mail with only a “forever” and a postcard stamp.

Delicious, but EAT THEM QUICKLY!
Incredibly delicious and soft upon arrival, but bars QUICKLY become “chalky”/hard after several weeks, even in a sealed storage container. Unless you are eating a bar a day, buying this amount of them isn’t quite the deal I thought I had gotten!

Though this is marketed as “mushroom” chocolate, it doesn’t taste like mushrooms and I think anyone who tried it would be hard-pressed to see it as anything other than regular, high quality dark chocolate. The chocolate has a slightly chalky texture, which is common in high cacao and low butterfat chocolate. It has a good snap and the bars are smooth and nicely shaped. Each paper packet holds two servings, but there is no way to reseal after you break off half so you’ll need a rubber band to close it up.
The chocolate is smooth for very dark chocolate. It has some fruity notes and cherry in particular hit me. It’s not overly sweet, but it also isn’t especially bitter. If you hate dark chocolate, you may not love this, but you won’t find it unpalatable. There is also a bit of a coffee note (which is also common in dark chocolate) and that causes a lingering aftertaste much as coffee does when you drink it.
The main issue with these is the value. There is a lot of quality dark chocolate out there and it’s more economical than this so one has to weigh the low sugar and other nutritional components into consideration. It’s good dark chocolate, but it is pricey.

This stuff is the best for a variety of reasons. First of all, mushrooms or no mushrooms, this is great chocolate. Rich and smooth with a wonderful aftertaste. Excellent paired with coffee. What could be better? It’s organic. Heirloom cacao. Rainforest friendly and all that stuff, if it matters to you. As a matter of fact, yes! It does matter to me! How to make it even better? Add those mushrooms, please. They don’t make the chocolate taste funky, they just add a supercharged burst of health. If all that isn’t enough to convince you, All the packaging is eco-friendly.
It comes in a square that’s breakable into four smaller squares.
So, this stuff is great in every way. If you like chocolate, you’re in for a treat.

I purchased these for $40 which isn’t bad. The taste is mild but decent mushroom chocolate. The bars are small but overall a good serving and low calorie. I was planning to reorder but the price jumped from $40 to $50, that is insane. Would not purchase these for that much money definitely not worth it.

Since I like these chocolate bars so much and was completely out I took a chance and ordered them evening though the days are especially hot this summer. I so hoped they would not melt and arrive all runny. Need not have worried. They were carefully wrapped in an insulated bag and are perfect!

I love chocolate and have paid in excess of $35 to $40 for bars of chocolate. Comparatively, this chocolate is on the higher end of the price scale. Even though I found this chocolate to be of superior quality, I’d say that the price for this chocolate is slightly even out of the ballpark range for higher quality chocolate I’ve purchased.
The flavor of this chocolate was really interesting. Some dark chocolate can have a chalky mouthfeel that is not pleasant. This chocolate had a very smooth mouthfeel and melted nicely which is surprising given how dark this chocolate is. It is less sweet than other chocolate with a slight bitterness which I actually prefer. It has a umami undertones that was unexpected and yet enjoyable which I attribute to the mushrooms in this chocolate. I love that it didn’t have any sour notes that some dark chocolate can leave.
I don’t normally take mushroom supplements so I can’t really say if there are health benefits from having this but from a chocolate snob perspective, this was a nice treat. If you are a chocoholic like myself and looking to experience something new in chocolate, I recommend trying this. This less sweet dark chocolate with an interesting umami flavor profile was a nice treat and something different that I hadn’t experienced before.

I did not know what to expect when I ordered mushroom chocolate bars, hmm. The box that arrived was rather small with 10 smallish individually packaged chocolate bars inside.
I tried my first bar with a glass of red wine in the evening not knowing what to expect but wow! What a pleasant surprise. This dark chocolate with mushrooms tastes just like dark chocolate, it’s delicious! I gave my husband a piece to try and asked him what he thought, he said it was very good and he asked for another piece. So this dark chocolate has the added bonus of healthy mushrooms included inside, what could be better than that. So now I eat half a bar each night with a glass of wine and tell myself it’s for my good health.
The only reason for the one star deduction is the price, I don’t think I could afford to buy these on a regular basis.

The only thing “wrong” with this is the price. The chocolate itself is good. Not my favorite, but good. I didn’t experience any noticeable benefits from the mushrooms. But I love chocolate. The flavors are great and rich and almost bitter. The texture is mostly smooth with a good snap when you break the chocolate bar. I couldn’t taste the mushrooms at all, just chocolate.
